Microsoft released it latest version of its browser, Internet Explorer 9 just two months back. Mozilla finally released Firefox 4 which took almost a year to develop and test. Opera slowly and silently releasing the updated version now and then. About Chrome, Google never stopped the updating process!

After all these latest updates how they are performing? Are they getting new users or losing the existing ones to their rivals?

Well the latest market share for the month of April is out and here what stats speak about.

Chrome’s Growth – Unstoppable

As you all know Google has got a new schedule plan of releasing new version of Chrome browser once in every six weeks. The plan is working out well for them as they started gaining more and more new users by releasing great and new features in very short period of time.

According to Net Applications, Google Chrome is almost nearing to 12% of market share which now stands at 11.94%. From last month, Chrome has certainly gained 0.37% of market share.

But another browsers statistics provide StatCounter speaks something different. According to StatCounter, Google Chrome’s market share stands at 18.29% which is 0.92% up from previous month stats.

Even after the release of next generation browser by Microsoft and Mozilla, Internet Explorer and Firefox market shares has gone down quite a bit.

Firefox 4 Better Than IE9 And Opera 11?

Well this month market share shows Firefox 4 is running on more machines when compared to Internet Explorer 9 and Opera 11.x. Nothing shocking in that as Firefox 4 surpassed IE9’s download count within few hours of public release. And Opera is not so impressive even though they got some amazing features.

Mozilla is nearing to release Firefox 5 in a month of time. It’s time for all these browser vendors to wake up soon and get some other advertising strategies to grab their lost market share. Else Chrome will eat their share soon as it is getting done with some great features in coming versions.
