Fishbowl, a desktop application for Facebook, has been released by Uxlabs at Microsoft and is available for download.
Fishbowl is one of the coolest and perfect desktop application for Facebook as compared to many tools for Twitter( Like TweetDeck). If we are not wrong this may be the first application for Facebook.
Fishbowl allows Facebook users to personalize how you read your newsfeed, update the status, write comments, browse friend photos or upload their own, but with added functionality like dragging and dropping in new photos. Fishbowl also uses newWindows 7 features like jumplists, taskbar previews and multitouch to experience Facebook in new ways.

Fishbowl login is similar to Facebook login screen. In login screen itself you can have a overview of how the Home screen may look like. Isn’t it?
Fishbowl has a very sleek and smooth Home screen. You can perform many things from home screen as compared to web version of Facebook. You can chat, check notifications, check friends photos and many more.
In Fishbowl menu u can find links to Home, Friends, Your Profile, Photos, Search and Facebook Button. These buttons are large enough for smooth navigation. Facebook Button is used to switch to web version of Facebook. Fishbowl will be running after switching to web version.
As similar to web version of Facebook, in Fishbowl also you fine the sidebar which is named as Facebook Feeds. The only change here is you can access more things like Video, Notes and Group from the Home screen itself.
Fishbowl comes with bottom bar as similar to famous bottom bar of Facebook. You can say this is similar to older version of Facebook bar. We can find friends who are online, Notifications and Inbox links here.
In web version of Facebook you can’t see what is your status message from home page. But here in Fishbowl you can see your latest status message. And you can update your status by just a click As shown below.
When you click on the Notifications link in the bottom bar, all the recent notifications will be shown there. This feature works similar to web version of Facebook. If you click on the user name it will direct you to user profile and clicking on status or comment will direct you to comments page.
Good news about Fishbowl is Chat bar will never say “Chat is unavailable”. Fishbowl comes with very good chat windows as shown below.
Fishbowl has a full screen chat window where you can find the online friends on left side and the right part is big enough to have a very good chat. This can give a tough competition to other Facebook chat clients.
You can zoom in and out while you are in wall panel.
Fishbowl Friend list has addition features in it, as compared to web version. You can find which friend is online while you navigating through list. A small green/yellow button will be showed next to user name to indicate user is active and inactive. One more feature is you can see the status of your friend just below to their name.
What to know which friend birthday is next on line? Fishbowl shows which birthday is next. In fact it shows the birthday list of all your friends. This is one of the best feature in Fishbowl and missing in web version.
Do you need and explanation here? It is just similar to web version of Facebook.
Fishbowl can show you all you friends photos like album at one point. This is one of the best features we have found in Fishbowl.
Facebook doesn’t allow you or give any link to download your friends photos. Many other websites and tools allow you to download friends photos. But they force you to register in their site first! Isn’t it irritating? Fishbowl provides all these facility at one point. You can download images while browsing. You can download full album by one click.
If we stop here about photo feature in Fishbowl is not enough. Photo viewing facility is awesome in Fishbowl. Fluid, snappy user interface helps in navigating photos quickly.

Minimized Fishbowl shows many things which minimized browser window won’t show. When you minimize the Fishbowl to taskbar and mouse hover on it will give direct links to many things as shown in image.
