Every single day, the amount of information generated by the interent traffic requires 168 million DVD’s to store. There are more than 2 million posts written everyday (including this ), and about 294 billion emails are sent.

Facebook dominates all the internet users with more than 172 million visitors on their site. The time spent on Facebook is about 4.7 billion minutes with more than 532 million status each day.

Facebook and other various social networking sites have grown to a large extent in couple of years. Starting from a small kid to aged people, everyone are eager to have an account in it. Its difficult to say for what purpose they are using it.

Facebook’s growth is mainly because of its integration of games and groups of friends. Games are the main source of income for any social networkig sites. Haven’t you played a single game on Facebook? Admit it

Many parents have started restricting their kids to join social networking sites thinking it could spoil them.

According to ComScore reports,

Social networking accounted for nearly 1 in every 5 minutes spent online globally in October 2011, ranking as the most engaging online activity worldwide. Social networking sites now reach 82 percent of the world’s Internet population age 15 and older that accessed the Internet from a home or work computer, representing 1.2 billion users around the globe.

In October, Facebook reached more than half (55 percent) of the world’s global audience and accounted for 1 in every 7 minutes spent online around the world and 3 in every 4 social networking minutes.

Stats do look bit scary that most of the internet users above 15yrs are on Facebook! How many of them are still kids? How does it impact on their parents? Here is a nice infographic which explains all these.

Internet, the only communication media using which each and every web user is surviving everyday. People of various countries and regions are connected to each other through Internet using social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and many more.

Internet users are growing in a large proportion as each and every user has to use Internet to fulfill their basic needs. If there was no Internet then:

• We would have never thought of creating websites
• We would have never upgraded our knowledge [Wikipedia ]
• We would have still used the post letter than Email

The two most widely used language in the world wide web  are English and Chinese. There are 536 million people using English Language on the Internet and on the second position being the Chinese with a user base of 509 million.

English is being used as an official language in many countries, but still it’s usage is decreasing day by day, as Languages like Chinese, Russian and Arabic have grown by 1,500%, 1,800% and 2,500% online since 2000.

Email, the never ending communication media through which everyone has succeeded and will be successful forever. Email also know as Electronic Mail (e-mail) is widely used by almost all the Internet users and can never be replaced by any other communication medium .

What would have happened if there was no “Email” ??

• We would’ve never been connected to any of our friends online
• Our Knowledge would’ve never been enhanced without any latest news falling into our mailbox ;)
• Facebook,Twitter,Google+ and other Social Networks would’ve not gained the boom and popularity which they’ve gained now
• We would still depend on the postal system and wait for days to deliver the message and receive it back

But I’m thankful to all the technicians and Engineers who has provided Email service to us and  in 1971 the first Email (ARPANET) was sent and successfully received, which was the start of the Internet Revolution.

Email for business is one of the fastest growing trend and almost 95% of US Online Consumers use it  for communication and business. Every successful business group use Email to get new clients and provide support to their existing clients.

For a Blogger like me , Email helps me in each and every aspects of Blogging. It helps me in getting to know the latest news of my own niche through my inbox, and I being a Twitteraddict would always love to know whenever any new followers follow me on Twitter and whenever I receive a Twitter DM.

Shocked? Even we are! From the day we got Tab Candy feature in Firefox 4 beta 4 we were exploring many media sites to check whether the same feature will be implemented in Chrome browser. But we came to know Google is not planning for something like that as of now!

What is Tab Candy?

Tab Candy is a feature added in Firefox to help organize your browsing. With one keystroke Tab Candy shows an overview of all tabs to allow you to quickly locate and switch between them. Tab Candy also lets you group tabs to organize your work flow.

Mozilla team took sometime in implementing this feature on Firefox 4. Finally on August 24, 2010 we got a much awaited tab candy feature on Firefox 4 beta 4. Something different, something new and it is one of a best innovation by Firefox.

What’s next? Over? Nope! We have been seeing all the latest browser builds Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 4, Opera are getting chromified. Firefox 4 always found resembling Chrome. But this time we got a extension which makes Google Chrome resembling Firefox

TooManyTabs for Chrome

TooManyTabs is a Google Chrome extension which works similar to Tab Candy feature on Firefox. As compared to Tab Candy on Firefox, this extension wont show the opened tabs on new window rather it just pop-up a window displaying all the tabs. The display is similar to Tab candy on Firefox.

Features of TooManyTabs,

1. Long List

This extension pop-up a window which displays all the currently opened tab on long list as show in the image. Right and left arrow keys are provided to access the tabs which crossed the limit of pop-up window size.

2. Sorting

User can sort the list by A-Z alphabetic order, by Web Address or by creation time.

3. Import / Export

As you can create group on Firefox’s Tab Candy you can import and export the tabs list by copying the text provided by extension.

Tech Note: you can avail this feature on other system only by installing same extension.

4. Close any tab

A small arrow will be displayed next to each tab which can be used to pop out that tab from list, indirectly closes the tab in the browser as well.

5. Suspended Tabs

Here the idle tabs will be displayed to reduce the overflow of tabs in the list. Doing this the memory will be released.

6. Recently Closed

As similar to the chrome’s feature of recently closed tabs even this extension will list the links which are recently closed. One advantage is, you can open the closed tab directly. No need to open a new tab on chrome to access the recently closed tabs.

We have been updating you with every move of Chromium 7 or for simplicity Chrome 7 project. First we noticed 7 changes in Chrome 7 when compared to Chrome 6. Recently we saw integration of Instant search, UI tabs, Remote hosting in Chrome 7.

Now its time to update more and yes, again we got some new features being integrated in Chrome 7 latest build 7.0.548.0. This time Google moves one step ahead and brought something new. Here are the new features integrated in Chrome,

#1. Google Cloud Print

Google Cloud Print enables any application (web, desktop, mobile) on any device to print to any printer.

Applications submit print jobs to the service via the web-based common print dialog or API offered by the service. Google Cloud Print then sends the print job to the selected printer which the user has previously registered with the service. A new class of cloud-aware printers connects directly to the service and offers the best user experience. Legacy printers connect to the service via a proxy.

#2. Background WebApps

Background Web Apps enable a future app to boot in the background at system startup and continue running even if all Windows have been closed. There was no further information and it is unclear if and when this feature will make it into a beta, developer or final version of Chrome.

#3. XSS Auditor

Enables WebKit’s XSS Auditor (cross-site scripting protection). This feature aims to protect you from certain attacks of malicious web sites. It improves your security, but it might not be compatible with all web sites.

Tech Tip: Do you remember the recent bom sobando attack on Orkut.com ? Hackers used XSS to attack the website and spread unwanted messages around, that too without any action from a user.

#4. Disable outdated plug-ins

Automatically disables plug-ins with known security vulnerabilities and offers update links for them. Outdated plugins create another loophole for hackers to gain control of your system. Most of the times plugin authors roll out new updates to fix vulnerabilities.

Tech Tip: This is very true in the case of Flash on browsers. That’s why Flash has been integrated in Chrome 6.

These are the new features which have been added about:lab in Chrome latest build. Still we aren’t clear whether these new features will be integrated upcoming Chrome 7 or it is a preparation for Chrome 8.

As we are getting closer to Chrome 7 release these features are making users go crazy about this web browser. Well these features can put Chrome on upper hand in browsers war as compared to Firefox and Internet Explorer 9.

Let us all know who this great personality is……..

Samuel Finley Breese Morse (April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872) was the American creator of a single wire telegraph system and Morse code and (less notably) a painter of historic scenes.

We should feel proud of him because of him we are able to talk to each other with minimal expenses.
