iOS4 Problems Wait or Downgrade to iOS 3.1.3

iOS4

After a successful launch of iPhone 4, now is the time for everyone to move towards iOS 4. This update for your iPhones was supposed to be a major advancement for your iPhone 3g and iPhone 3gs with a few of the enhanced features of iOS 4 . But we found and researched a few problems which occurred after the successful update of the iOS 4 in the iPhones.

So we thought of listing all the problems [with fixes, if available] which have occurred after the update of the iPhone OS.

Battery Dehydration

This is one of the major problems, as the battery backup of the iPhone has decreased to an extent, allowing iPhone use for only a short period of time. Even after using few applications in the background, the battery becomes dehydrated very soon, leading users to restore to the previous version of iPhone OS.

We suggest you read=> OS4 and Battery life. Here, iPhone users have shared their problems regarding battery life of the iPhone after upgrading to iOS 4 and still they await a proper solution. Is this problem initiated purposefully to switch to iPhone4? What do you think?

Network Problems

After the upgrade, iPhones don’t seem to support Wi-Fi, cellular data (3g or edge).

MMS which was not working is now fixed. Have a check here => Fix No MMS issue and Network problems

Contacts Disappeared

Many iPhone users have lost their contacts just after updating. This problem has occurred because there is no automatic synchronization of contacts while you are taking a back-up and synchronizing your iPhone. So this problem is also being fixed. Have a check here => HERE IS THE IPHONE FIX FOR LOST CONTACTS AFTER INSTALLING OS4 . But this seems to work for only few users. So still some updates are needed for iOS4.

Background Wallpaper Not Working

This problem was officially told by Erica via  Gizmodo who had sent an email to Steve Jobs regarding the problems which she experienced after upgrading to iOS 4, but she received a disappointing reply. Just check it out=> iPhone 3G Failed to Handle iOS 4 . Also there is a problem in the picture behind the apps, which seems to be annoying in iOS 4. Currently you can just change it as it is locked screen picture.

No Multitasking

This was for sure as told by Gizmodo =>What iPhone OS 4 Doesn’t Give the iPhone 3G and the only way to have Multitasking is Jailbreak it.

Alarm Duplication

The default clock application has replicated alarms which has not yet been fixed. This is from the Apple Discussion forum threads. Have a check =>iPhone Alarm Clock issue after iOS4.0 upgrade.

Some other problems have also arisen after the iOS 4 update, like no push notification; games not supporting; low memory problem; and not properly working with Gmail.

Prevention is Better than Cure

As per the above problems, we would suggest you downgrade to iOS 3.1.3 if you are having problems with iOS 4 . Here are few resources to help you out to downgrade back to iOS 3.1.3 from your current iOS 4.
