Internet Explorer 9 is finally here! Guess what, this time Microsoft has delivered it perfectly without any problems. Just on right time IE9 got released and users are playing around the all new UI from Microsoft.
If we would like to describe IE9 is 3 words it will be Fast, Smooth and Mind Blowing! Before the first beta Microsoft had released 4 platform previews to make its users and developers to have a look at its depth features. Through these test drives IE9 got many users attracting towards it before the beta release.
Similar to Google, even Microsoft used some strategy by giving away the beta to top developers so that they start promoting it before the public release. That was good for some who had got chance to feel about IE9.
Lets cut this story here and start speaking about amazing IE9 and its features.
#1. Before IE9 Installation
Have a look at what Microsoft IE9 is saying in screenshot! Yes! IE9 offers fast browsing like Chrome and Firefox. Clean and secure as well.

Finally IE9 is Chromified. After Firefox its IE9 turn to be Chrome like design. More browsing window space and happy users 🙂
#3. Missing Status bar, Command bar and Favorite Bar?
Even we do accept not having status bar activated in IE9 make you go crazy. If you click on any link, for sometime a ring will be revolving on its tab and then it will stop before page being loaded. Many menu features has been embedded in Command Bar and it can be activated just by right click on top-right corner.
#4. Reduced Menu
Compared to its previous versions of Internet Explorer’s, IE9 has got drastic changes in menu style. Menu structure has been reduced totally. Only few options are visible on the screen through Tools and favorite button on top-right corner. Rest has to enabled though command bar and pressing CTRL once.
#5. Browsing History
Microsoft IE team has finally added a browsing history feature in IE9. Users can access the history by clicking on the Star or Favorite Button on top-right corner.
#6. Firefox like Back and Forwards Button
IE9 has may be copied back and forward buttons from Firefox. These two buttons are exactly similar to Firefox’s big back button and small forward button.
#7. Caret Browing
Caret Browsing feature of IE9 turns your browser as a read-only mode MS word. As shown in image, turning on this feature will allow you to access website as a word.
Rather than using a mouse to select text and move around within a webpage, you can use standard navigation keys on your keyboard—Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, and the arrow keys. This feature is called Caret Browsing and is named after the caret—or cursor—that appears when you edit a document.
#8. Check your website threats
SmartScreen filter feature is used to check the browsing website for any threats. Is any threats are found then the report will be sent to MS and IE9 will warn user to stop opening the site.
#9. Ignore colors, font style and font sizes specified on website
Now user can ignore the style sheet being used by website by enabling any of the option specified above. Once enabled, it applies to all other sites as well.

IE9 provides a facility to see others website in your style. User can design their own stylesheet and use it to see external sites.

#11. Bottom Notifications
Previously pop-ups have become bottom notifications in IE9 now. Now user can see notifications like save password, download, pop-up blocked and few others on the bottom part of the browser. This save user to stay on page when answering to them similar to Google Chrome.
#12. Save and Run Downloaded File
IE9 team has added a new feature like save and run downloaded file in IE9. This feature reduces the time spent on saving the file and browsing for it to run.
#13. New downloads Window
Do you remember in previous versions of IE if we start downloading 3 or 4 files together then it used to open similar number of pop-up to show the progress. Now IE9 has got new downloads window similar to Firefox(but better than Fx) to display the active downloads.
#14. Opened Site Status
Internet Explorer 9 provides the feature called “Open Site Status” which tells whether the currently opened sites are very active, active or inactive. This information will be obtained to users when they click on the new tab.
#15. Reopen Closed Tabs
User can now open the recently closed tabs by using reopen closed tab feature. This feature is helpful when user closes the tab by mistake.

#16. Website to Excel
This is one of the most stunning feature in IE9. Users can convert website to excel by right clicking and selecting “Export to Excel” option. After selecting the option, MS excel will be opened as shown in screenshot. Now a click on import button will produced below shown result.
Only the text will be exported to excel sheet.
#17. On/Off Site Suggestion
User can turn on and off site suggestions by their default search engine anytime.
#18. Cut, Copy and paste
Again same cut, copy and paste shortcuts. First Google Chrome introduced, then Firefox copied and now IE9!
#19. Site in Start Menu
Image speaks everything!
#20. Edit Webpage in MS Word
Now user can edit any web site in MS word and store it in webpage extension. User can edit the html coding, only the text visible on the site.
