TooManyTabs is a Google Chrome extension which works similar to Tab Candy feature on Firefox. As compared to Tab Candy on Firefox, this extension wont show the opened tabs on new window rather it just pop-up a window displaying all the tabs. The display is similar to Tab candy on Firefox.

Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

JavaScript Benchmark1 Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!< credit >

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 first beta is out, Mozilla is releasing its long journey of beta versions, Chrome is inching towards is next big release Chrome 7! There are lot of things happening around us in browsers war.

All the browsers out there are working hardly on HTML5 features, GPU Acceleration, JavaScript Benchmarks and many more things to keep them on top. With no doubt, Chrome/Chromium 7 has already running high on HTML 5 features.

Today we are updating you guys more about the JavaScript Benchmark. There are lot of JavaScript benchmarks testings are available on market like webkit’s sunspider, Mozilla’s Kraken and Google’s V8 Benchmarks.

Mozilla says that its own Kraken JavaScript test is much more comprehensive than the Sunspider test and takes real world applications into account. There are those who claim that this test heavily favors Firefox, but Mozilla denies this allegation. Even we tested all current browser beta versions for Kraken JavaScript benchmark and the result is as below,

Opera 10 7 kraken javascript benchmark image1 Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

Score: 19,526ms

Surprisingly, Opera 10.7 has hit a top score this time when compared to other current beta’s. Opera 10.7 beta is running on Carakan JavaScript.

Chrome 7 kraken javascript benchmark image1 Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

Score: 25657.2ms

Well Chromium, which we call Chrome for simplicity reasons in this article, is on second place with 25657 milliseconds. Chrome 7 is just ahead of Firefox 4 beta 6 with very small margin of milliseconds.

Firefox 4 beta 6 kraken javascript benchmark image1 Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

Score: 26540.9ms

With 26540.9ms, Firefox’s latest version is on third place. Not bad, but Firefox would have scored well on its own test.

Safari 5 kraken javascript benchmark image1 Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

Score: 29914.7ms

Apple Safari managed to get inside 30k with 29914.7ms. Safari’s SquirrelFish JavaScript developed by webkit team didn’t impress us although a 30 percent Javascript performance increase over Safari 4.

IE 9 beta kraken javascript benchmark image1 Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

Score: 75187.4ms

Much spoken Microsoft’s IE9 is running poorly on Kraken Benchmark. It is almost 4 times slower than Opera. Lot of work to be done on IE9 now!

==========================================================

Well this is the current list of Kraken JavaScript Benchmark test. You can see Opera is topping the list, Chrome and Firefox is fighting neck-to-neck for second place and Safari performing quite a well. But on IE9 side, Microsoft team has to work lot of things after seeing placed on bottom in HTML5 and Kraken JavaScript Benchmark.

What you think about the current browser war? Is Opera really going to pull everyone back? Share your thought and let other also know icon smile Opera 10.70 Beta Tops Kraken JavaScript Benchmark!

IE9 a "Site-Centric, Not Browser-Centric"

ie9logo1 IE9 a "Site Centric, Not Browser Centric"

Well the time is nearing and all are getting ready to have an hands on Microsoft’s new Internet Explorer 9. The much spoken IE9 first beta is getting released in just few hours from now, 10:30 am PDT or 11 pm IST timings.

But the shocking news is, IE9 is already available for few companies and the response from them is making others more exciting. Pair of IE9 and Windows 7 is going to making ultimate change in browser war. We all are expecting lot of things from IE9 on one side and other side Windows XP users are kept away from IE9.

The news is, Fastcompany has already got IE9 in their Windows 7 machine and they expressed what they felt about it. Here are few things we got by seeing the screenshots from Fastcompany.

Internet explorer 9 app pins image1 IE9 a "Site Centric, Not Browser Centric"

First thing we got from IE9 screenshot is, converting website into application. We saw this feature already in Chrome 6, 7 and Firefox 4 beta‘s. But these application were not able to get pinned in taskbar. Microsoft has included this feature to be fully available on Windows 7 machines.

IE9 has boiled down with HTML5 features. Hope this time IE9 cross the score by Chrome 7 and tops the list. Many, including Apple believe HTML5 could one day replace Adobe Flash. But for Microsoft, it has become a vehicle for migrating apps to the PC.

Finally IE9 has got Chromified look, just similar to Firefox 4. So finally IE9 has got total remake and looks clear. Similar to Chrome and Firefox, IE9 got big browsing space.

Internet explorer 9 Firefox like buttons image1 IE9 a "Site Centric, Not Browser Centric"

As u can see in screenshot, the back and forward buttons are resembling Firefox 4 buttons. Hope IE9 didn’t copy it icon smile IE9 a "Site Centric, Not Browser Centric"

Last but not least, IE9 is Site-Centric, Not Browser-Centric.

According to Gavin,

Microsoft’s aim was to create a site-centric, not browser-centric, Internet Explorer that has revved-up HTML5 support. Frame rates are explosive–early comparison tests have showed big gains on Chrome and Firefox–and high-def video is handled beautifully, thanks to big tweaks to hardware acceleration.

==============================================================

Well these are the few notable changes we got before the hands on IE9. Can’t wait anymore to get IE9 first ever beta.
