Chrome 7 beats other browsers in HTML5 Test!

browsers race html5 test

Google is working hard on its next upcoming browser version- Chromium 7 and is trying to implement many more new features which were missing  in it’s previous release.

Recently we heard, Google Chrome 7 is all about GPU acceleration to improve the overall graphics performance. Previously we found that GPU acceleration can be manually activated in Chrome, But soon after Google confirmed that “there’s been a lot of work going on to overhaul Chromium’s graphics system” and the browser will “begin to take advantage of the GPU to speed up its entire drawing model.”

But we were surprised to see that Google is also improving many other features as well. While testing recent Chrome 7.0.522 Build, Chrome showed massive update on HTML 5 test.

No wonder that Google is concentrating more on HTML 5 features, so that next generation web developers can make most out of it. Chrome / Chromium 7 still missing some main elements in Video and Audio tags. Mpeg-2, MP3, AAC formats are still missing.

Chrome 7 is having 10 elements as partially meta tags. All these elements is waiting for a “Value sanitization” feature to be updated. If Google Chrome team updates these features then no wonder it may cross 300 points and above.

Google Chrome 7 HTML 5 Test

We found that current stable version, Chrome 6 has got many new features and we saw the total change in visual style. To match this changes Firefox started copying Chrome features and tagged to new name “Chromified Firefox”.

Firefox 4 Beta 5 HTML 5 Test

Firefox 4 beta 5 also showed good improvement in HTML 5 test, but still behind Chrome and stayed on second spot.

Opera 10.61 HTML 5 Test

Opera 10.62 release stayed on 3rd place with 210 points (203 + 7 bonus) out of 377.

Apple Safari 5 HTML 5 Test

Apple’s Safari is still lagging behind and there is no improvement in HTML 5 features!

Internet Explorer 9 HTML 5 Test

We can’t miss Internet Explorer 9 in the list, as Microsoft spoke much about HTML 5 updates and said IE 9 will be the fastest browser among others. But the final platform preview 4 didn’t impress in HTML 5 test. Many HTML 5 elements are not yet integrated and hence performing poorly in HTML 5 tests.

With only few HTML 5 elements, IE 9 didn’t show any impressing factor and hence stays at the bottom.

These are the current HTML 5 update on all the top browsers. We are still waiting for first beta of IE 9 which is expected to go online on September 15, 2010.
