Epic – First Indian based Mozilla browser

All major browsers like IE, Firefox and Chrome etc… are ready with their next big releases and updates and this has lead to a war of browsers, but Under all these circumstances the First Indian origin browser “Epic” has arrived. Epic has many amazing features which makes it unique from all other browsers.
Epic is a web browser based on Mozilla Firefox code base. It contains several applications such as social networking, chat clients and email facilities integrated into the browser. It is similar to the social networking web browser Flock, but has been designed specifically for Indian users.
Epic is available for free download, which currently supports Microsoft Windows platform.
Who developed?
Epic browser is developed by Hidden Reflex, a Bangalore based software company founded by Alok Bharadwaj.

2. Built in Antivirus
Epic comes with built-in antivirus to protect your system from various kinds of viruses. This antivirus is supported by Eset, one of the leading antivirus software. It works at the back-end of the browser and also can be added as a separate tab of the browser. Epic antivirus performs the following tasks :

- Scan your system files and folders manually

3. Private Data Deletion

In just one click Epic users can delete all the private data stored by browser.
4. Private Browsing
This is one of the interesting feature of Epic browser and none of the other browsers has. Epic user can has private browsing where NO HISTORY, COOKIES, CACHED PAGES ARE STORED: Epic is not storing your browser history, search history, download history, web form history, cookies, or temporary internet files.
5. Flash cookie deletion
Epic Browser comes with the built-in Flash cookie deletion. The first browser ever to kill them!!
6. No Browsing Reports
Epic says “We don’t store your browsing or search data. Ever.” This also one of the big advantage where the other users of the your browser cant see the sites you had visited and more.
7. One click social networking
Epic comes with a new type of bookmark on the left hand side where user can store all the much needed sites. Mainly when you install the browser, the bar will be having social networking such as Orkut, Facebook and Twitter.
8. Applications
Epic is bundled with lots of applications like a translator for Indian languages scripts, a web snippet tool, timer, to do list, a full featured text editor, games, Google maps, clients for chatting, email apps, and several other installable web apps.
9. My Computer
Look at this feature! You can even browse your system files and folders inside the browser by just clicking on a My Computer button on sidebar.
10. To-Do list
Epic comes with a in-built to-do list where user can store any number of tasks and Epic alerts you about your To-do list.
11. Timer
Epic has a in-built timer facility where user can have a count on how much time they spent in browsing. User can store any number alerts. This can done for a single day or many days as well.
12. Google Maps
User can get a direction or map to the place they want by using the in-built Google maps feature in Epic.
13. Backup
Need to access the file from different computer?Want to back up your important documents? Epic has a simple file manager interface where you can store back up all the files using your gmail account.
14. Document editor
Epic comes with in-built Document editor using which you can open,edit and create any document.
15. Snippets
While browsing user can even store any images or webpage snippets using the snippet feature provided by Epic.
16. Website collection
Want to group of website which you can open all of them in single click? Epic has that! You store any number of website as a group and open in single click.
17. Games
Epic comes with lot of flash games in-built. Anytime you can open and race, shoot or play any game. It will take a big time to load the games.

mr. dinesh, if you go to any mail box via/thru epic browser, you will find the language selection everywhere, incl. your mail box, chat box etc. just select the language from the drop box, tick in the small square box besides it and start chatting / writing in the language of your desire. just type in english, for eg. aap kaise ho? and it will translate itself the moment you press space bar. Try it out.

This is a markedly Indian browser, unlike Indian customisations on other browsers. I found it quite well researched. Of course, one has to make some compromises to achieve some new functionalities but this one maintains is a good balance.
