Google has started 2011 on high note by updating all its products. Recently we saw Google Chrome 9 beta got updated and its almost ready for final release. And Chrome OS is trying to get some market share from Microsoft Windows.

Well this is done, Google new venture into smartphones war also proving one more successful product in the market against iPhone, Symbian and others. Google recently released Nexus S and Android 2.3, Gingerbread. And they still not done with buzzing new news to its loyal customers!

On Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Google previewed next version of Android i.e Android 3.0, Honeycomb. Honeycomb is the next version of the Android platform, designed from the ground up for devices with larger screen sizes, particularly tablets.

Whenever the version number increases, even list of features get increases. Google has said to have spent a lot of time refining the user experience in Honeycomb, and developed a brand new, truly virtual and holographic user interface.

Google had made major revision to Gmail for mobile that should take advantage of the browser technology available on iPhone and Android devices. The major updates were made on UI part.

Today Google update Gmail web app for iPhone and Android to latest HTML5. This makes it smooth and gets better UI with new HTML5 tags.

This latest update from Google will work automatically when you visit Gmail from your iPhone or Android device which has default language in one of those listed above.

This latest Gmail web application comes with bunch of new goodies including offline support, smart links (titles will appear in links for Google Maps, YouTube and Google Docs), the ability to add and remove labels, layout improvements(HTML5 updates) and more, in addition to the existing features like starring, better threaded conversations and search.

This new version works fine for iPhones running iOS 2.2.1 and above, and all versions of Android.

One advantage is, this new feature does not require for users to install anything, no setup is required new on their mobile phones, but you just need visit m.yahoo.com/messenger to enjoy Yahoo! Messenger with Chat + SMS features included.

Apple conducted a small Press Conference at their head quarters in Cupertino, California today. Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs was there to host this conference and announced that Apple will be giving away every user a free “Bumper Case” with an iPhone 4 to account for the Antenna issue till 30th September. Welcome back to Tech18.com, today i am gonna discuss about BlackBerry Curve 8900 which is RIM’s first ever smartphone to come equipped with Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera.

Specification:

• The Curve 8900 is equipped with a smaller display (2.4-inches) as compared to the Bold’s 2.6-inch TFT LCD
• The Black Trackball or ‘Black Pearl’, as it were, looks better with this handset and we still believe this is the best form of mobile UI navigation, bar none.
• Its full QWERTY keypad is well laid out and with segregated keys like this, typing is also a whole lot easier in comparison to the Bold.
• On one side of the handset is a singular key for voice activating features and on the other side is the micro USB connectivity port, Camera key, volume/zoom keys and a 3.5mm handsfree cum earphone socket.
• The handset is lightweight and that makes it easy to carry.
• The camera with its LED flash is located at the rear, and though the handset doesn’t have a hot swap slot for the microSD card, you won’t need to remove the battery to get to it.
