Although many tablets have been released, some failed to achieve the user’s attention in terms of features and looks. These days many tablets started using Android, however they weren’t able to acquire the tablet market as that of Apple’s iPad. Then Google made a good move by releasing Android’s New version 3.0 known as “Honeycomb” which was very well designed for tablets.

Samsung came up with their first Android Tablet 7” and started their tablet journey successfully until Apple came up with it’s iPad 2. Now Samsung have decided to pitch back to the tablets market share with their latest Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Every product is developed by successful research in that market and so Samsung, who have done a proper research, came up with Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Below is an Infographic which describes the 3 successful key points behind the development of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 :

Infographic

Source

Below are some good resources for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 :

Samsung Galaxy : Tab Of The Future

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 VS iPad 2

Why Galaxy Tab is a must have for Productive Blogging

10 Rock-Solid Reasons why you should GET TABBING now!

Thanks for reading and do let us know what’s you take for Galaxy Tab and how effectively will you use it !

Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 In India Next Month, Priced at 35K and 28K!

Android

Gadget

Tech18

dual core

ebook

family and friends

features

gadgets

galaxy

honeycomb

iPad

korean manufacturers

Launch

media content

mobile professional

next generation

playing games

price

ranjit

release date

samsung mobile

samsung tab

samsung tab 10.1

samsung tab 8.9

specifications

stereo speakers

tablet pc

writing emails

wxga tft

yadav

Samsung is all set to release the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9 and Galaxy S 2 smartphone in India next month. Just a week before Apple took a step ahead by releasing iPad 2 in Indian Market. Now get ready to experience the next versions of Galaxy Tabs.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 inches tablets had a release date in mid April before Apple’s iPad 2. But due to some unknown issues it got delayed by Korean Manufacturers.

Both the versions of next generation Galaxy tablets are set to hit Indian market in next month for Rs. 35,000 and Rs. 28,000 respectively.

Tech link: 15+ Best Features Of Android 3.0, Honeycomb

In a recent interview for the daily newspaper Business Standard, Samsung Mobile India Head, Ranjit Yadav said,

“We will launch the 10-inch tablet PC at around Rs 35,000 and the 8-inch device will be priced around Rs 28,000. While the tablet PC market today stands at around 25,000 units a quarter, we expect it to grow exponentially here on.”

The pricing seems to be pretty decent, but it is still unclear that this pricing is for 3G version or WiFi only versions. I think, it is for the WiFi only versions, as the 3G version of original Galaxy Tab was priced at INR 38,000 at the time of launch last year.

Specifications:

<credit>

According to official press release,

Samsung Unveils GALAXY Tab 10.1 and GALAXY Tab 8.9, World’s Thinnest Mobile Tablets.
GALAXY Tab 10.1
GALAXY Tab 10.1, with its WXGA TFT LCD display (1280 x 800) powered by 1GHz dual core AP, is 8.6mm thin and weighs only 595g. Today we are speaking about the Application Market and Tablets war which is getting hotter day by day!

When we speak about Tablets, earlier we all used to just think about Apple’s iPad. Just in few months of time, lot of tablets emerged as Google entered with its Android OS, Windows Phone OS and lot more.

Who’s Standing Where?

Well the current market share of Mobile and Tablet OS’s is as below,

Above stats clearly shows how Google Android share is growing day by day. Google’s Android OS recently took over BlackBerry OS and now placed in third place.

Android App Store Will Take Over Apple’s iStore Soon!

The success of these Tablet OS’s and Tablet manufactures is directly depending on how many applications are getting developed and how many of them are used!

Almost all the Tablet OS developer and few Tablet Manufacturers are having their own app store for gadgets they are developing. If we name some,

Apple App Store

BlackBerry App World

Google Android Market

Nokia Ovi Store

Windows Phone 7 Marketplace

Palm App Catalog

GetJar and others.

Distimo a publication company in US mainly covers the all the latest happening around these app stores. Distimo’s recent publication cleared said Google’s Android Market will top the app market by throwing Apple App Stores aside in terms of number of applications.

Here are the 4 major finding about app market,

The Google Android Market eclipsed the Apple App Store for iPhone in terms of free applications and now has 134,342 free applications, while the Apple App Store iPhone has 121,845 free applications.

If all application stores maintain their current growth pace, approximately five months from now Google Android Market will be the largest store in terms of number of applications followed by the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, Windows Phone 7 Marketplace, BlackBerry App World and Nokia Ovi Store. The Windows Phone 7 Marketplace will also be larger than the Nokia Ovi Store and BlackBerry App World prior to the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace being available for even a full year.

One year after launching the iPad, Apple will be confronted with its first serious competition as both BlackBerry and Google enter the emerging tablet market. Apple has already seized momentum and grown the App Store for iPad in the first year to 75,755 applications developed by 21,975 publishers. Daily downloads in the Top 100 Overall paid and free applications for iPad combined exceed 500,000, while the daily revenue in the Top 100 paid is approximately $400,000 excluding in-app purchases.

Many of the top publishers on the iPad already publish cross-platform. Fifty-eight percent of the 50 most popular publishers have already developed applications for non-Apple platforms.

These top four finding by Distimo publishers clearly shows how application market is going to change in next few months.

Google’s Android never lost its momentum and kept its graph growing steadily. Battle is on and it’s actually a wake-up call for Apple, BlackBerry and Windows teams to start getting as many good apps as possible.

What you guys feel about this prediction? All browsers are already upgraded to HTML5 and now Apple will love it!

Some very good and mind blowing updates are going around the world of web. Web browsers are upgrading in high speed, developers are cracking some new technical things, many websites are also getting updated to show the users, “What’s next?”

All the above changes somewhere points to one technology which we are going to experience in future. Yes, it is HTML5.

What is HTML5?

The very first question which comes into your mind when you heard about it . HTML 5 is a new version of HTML / XHTML which specifically focuses on the wants and needs of web app developers. W3C has implemented many new features to reduce your coding time.

Tech Link: HTML5 : What? Why? How? and When?

Reason behind Browser Upgradation

As you can see in above link, there are many new tags getting added in HTML5 and many old browsers were not supporting them. This made all the browsers got upgraded.

Is HTML5 a threat for Adobe Flash?

Its very tough to answer this question. Many developers says, it is! When you can embed a video file which using some tool like Adobe Flash why there is a need for that tool? Many users had to download Adobe Flash software you see the videos before. But now it is getting integrated in web browsers itself.

The HTML5 Video Player widget enables web developers to generate code to add a HTML5-based player to their sites. This player will be the default and will load in browsers which come will full support for HTML5 as well as the codec of choice, another issue with HTML5 video.

However, if, for some reason, the browser can’t playback HTML5 video, a classic Flash-based player is loaded.

Adobe HTML5 Video Player Widget

With the rise of HTML5, Adobe’s Flash has been positioned as the antagonist of the open standard. Increasingly, HTML5 is used to serve online videos though the matter is far from resolved. Adobe has now released a widget which enables web developers to add HTML5 video support to their sites which falls back to Flash Player for browsers that don’t support HTML5.

Adobe writes on its Dreamweaver blog

HTML5 has received a tremendous amount of buzz, much of it driven by the potential for plugin-free video. However, the limited browser support for the HTML5 <video> tag has forced web designers to scramble for a solution that would work across platforms as well as browsers.

Adobe announced HTML5 Video Player Widget,

“To help customers overcome these challenges, Adobe has released an easy-to-use, totally CSS-customizable solution that shifts gracefully from the HTML5 <video> tag to the Flash Player when the tag is not supported. The shift takes place regardless of the screen—from phone to monitor to TV”

Who wants this?!

1. Apple Users:

The message Adobe is trying to send is clear, the company doesn’t perceive HTML5 as a threat. Whether or not that’s true doesn’t really matter, Adobe needs to win over web developers if it wants to maintain its position.

We must say, Apple product users were really missing Flash feature in their iPhone and Mac. Most of iPhone 4 users went down waiting for Flash support. Apple is becoming increasingly weary of Flash, with the recently released Adobe MacBook Air shipping without Flash bundled.

2. Window XP user:

Microsoft gave a big blow to Windows XP users from all sides. First they said Internet Explorer 9 won’t support Windows XP which was the mainly updated for HTML5 and some other features. And later Microsoft said, We are closing sales of Windows XP on October 22(oops! that is today!).

Well these thing must have surely hurt Windows XP users. Addition of this Adobe HTML5 Video Player widget will surely make them feel some what relaxed and can make something out of IE8 for HTML5.

Conclusion: As we see the recent Browser war, we can find almost all browsers are getting upgrading to be the best. Not to forget, Chrome beats other browsers in HTML5 which we performed recently. Hope Firefox 4, Opera 10.70 and Internet Explorer 9 wake up soon before they left out from their users.

The HTML5 Video Player widget, now available through the Adobe Widget Browser, works with or without Dreamweaver CS5.

Whats your say on this move by Adobe? Are they scared because of HTML5 or a smart move by them to keep Flash Player alive?
