In this digital world, we always meet many kind of persons and most of the people are categorized into Geeks and Nerds. Geeks are the lover of gadgets and Nerds are the ones who work behind developing those gadgets.

There’s always been a cold war between Geeks and Nerds, meanwhile people are always confused whom to choose a Geek or a Nerd. I myslef have come across many geeks and nerds, and it’s always been a tough call for me also to choose anyone among the two.

Although Geek and Nerd seems to be a similar type of synonyms, but the history of both the terminologies are very much different. Here are some of the facts on Geeks and Nerds:

Email, the never ending communication media through which everyone has succeeded and will be successful forever. Email also know as Electronic Mail (e-mail) is widely used by almost all the Internet users and can never be replaced by any other communication medium .

What would have happened if there was no “Email” ??

• We would’ve never been connected to any of our friends online
• Our Knowledge would’ve never been enhanced without any latest news falling into our mailbox ;)
• Facebook,Twitter,Google+ and other Social Networks would’ve not gained the boom and popularity which they’ve gained now
• We would still depend on the postal system and wait for days to deliver the message and receive it back

But I’m thankful to all the technicians and Engineers who has provided Email service to us and  in 1971 the first Email (ARPANET) was sent and successfully received, which was the start of the Internet Revolution.

Email for business is one of the fastest growing trend and almost 95% of US Online Consumers use it  for communication and business. Every successful business group use Email to get new clients and provide support to their existing clients.

For a Blogger like me , Email helps me in each and every aspects of Blogging. It helps me in getting to know the latest news of my own niche through my inbox, and I being a Twitteraddict would always love to know whenever any new followers follow me on Twitter and whenever I receive a Twitter DM.

Social Networking is an universal phenomenon followed by all the Internet users. People from different countries, speaking different languages try to connect with each other through Social Networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and many more.

Social Networking is an important part of everyone’s life, we do need online friends to know them, engage with them and share our thoughts with them .

Social Networking takes place anywhere, anytime and with anyone. There are no barriers while we’re engaging with anyone and hence social network sites are most visited sites in any country. The more you engage with people the more you get to know each other.

While we are networking with people, we always are interested more about them and connect with them loyally, but sometimes it so happens that you lose all your family and friends because of this, so better try to give time to all aspects of your life and hence schedule a separate time for your Social Life.

Facebook and Google are the two social sites which are trying to compete with each other time to time for each of their products. Google wants to have a better social networking site and hence beat Facebook whereas Facebook wants to have a larger user base than that of Google. Both these tech giants will never give-up until and unless any one among them is defeated.

We use Google, whenever we need to search anything which is not found in books and we use Facebook whenever we want to tell our friends what we are supposed to be doing or what has happened today through status updates. Both are attracting the users in their own way and hence this has lead to a slow and steady war between them which is never going to end. Google recently came up with +1 Button which was supposed to be a killer for Facebook Like button, but things didn’t go as Google expected, although webmasters are using the Google +1 Button on their site, but still they haven’t been any change in their traffic stats.

Before reading further make sure that you know all the products of Google and Facebook.

Twitter, a social networking site where each and every user utilizes 140 characters to achieve their dreams and goals. All the active twitter users are social media experts in their own niche, either they have a product or company which needs branding successfully or they are in need of friends to make them feel positive by tweeting.

Most of the active users are engaging with brands by sharing their opinions about the products, making recommendations about the products. Some of the other active users are asking for recommendations for products and some of them are seeking for customer support from the companies via Twitter.

When you engage with brands it is obvious that you like that brand also and this likelihood tends you to to either recommend or buy them.

Hello friends, beware of the Facebook YouTube Spam which is spreading across the Facebook in the form of wall posts. The spam prompts  the user to use the address bar and copy paste it’s JavaScript function which makes use of your account and publishes the same spam message on your friends wall.

This spam uses a fake YouTube video image  with custom messages which are of the following:

HEY <your-name> you should untag yourself in this video

ROTFL <your-name> you look so stupid in this vid

hey <your-name> what are you doing in this vid

wtf!! <your-name> you should untag yourself in this video

How this spam works??

I know everyone would like to know, how is this spreading, check out the below screenshots to understand how this spam works:

As shown in the above image, it guides you to use your browser addressbar and copy paste using Ctlr V + Enter , and when you point to the address bar and press Ctrl+V it paste the following  JavaScript codes as shown below :

As seen in the above image, the address bar of the browser contains some piece of  JavaScript code when pressed Ctrl+V , now you need to press Enter to make this spam work lol, don’t ever do it.

I encoded this piece of  JavaScript and found it is using  JavaScript file  of banfish.info. Below is the screenshot of the file :

Follow the below steps to get rid of this spam

Step 1 : Delete that Facebook Wall post so that at least your friends who are viewing your Facebook wall do not come across to this spam.

Step 2: Restrict other people from posting on your disabling your friends to post on your wall as shown below. Browse to Account=>Privacy Settings -> Customize Settings -> Things others share -> Friends can post on my Wall

So friends share this with all your friends to beware of this spam.

WOW! Things are changing around internet today. Lot of breaking news to kick-start this week. Well all the big news are from AOL and its acquisitions!

Yesterday we were speaking about the famous HuffingTon Post and the lady behind the success of HuffPo, Arianna Huffington! And today it all belongs to some who acquired it for $315 million!

As you all know Huffington is one of the most prominent media properties on the Internet which gets nearly 26 million unique visits per months! Now it is a property of someone else who already got big-guns like TechCrunch and Engadget in their pocket.

Yes, AOL has got one more big fish in their net now. And we must say, AOL is expanding than AOL is coming back! Arianna Huffington’s appointment as Editor In Chief of AOL.

It all started during mid of November, 2010 when Huffington and CEO of AOL met to discuss about it. Following video tells about the acquisition process,

TechCrunch is now HuffingtonCrunch!

Here comes another shocker for the day! TechCrunch will be renamed to HuffingtonCruch!

TechCrunch said,

We’re hearing from multiple sources that, effective tomorrow morning, TechCrunch.com will be renamed HuffingtonCrunch.com.

According to the same sources, TechCrunch isn’t the only AOL property to be affected by the Huffington acquisition. We understand that, also from tomorrow, Popeater.com will be renamed “GOPeater.com”,  PoliticsDaily will become “PoliticsDailyKos” and Mapquest will be rebranded as “Keith Olbermann’s BEST MAPQUEST IN THE WORLD”

Oh, and “Huffington Post Comedy” will now be called “Engadget”.

What is happening here? AOL has changed the big names and they made it so simple!

When ever some one start developing a site they spend more time in thinking whether to have a site optimized for Google or site with good looking flash contents. People who think about Google ranking they usually go for SEO friendly sites.

Because of the above reason Flash contents were neglected even though they improves site design. And here comes one more good news from Google to all the developers out there.

About two years ago Google announced that through a collaboration with Adobe we had significantly improved Google’s capability to index Flash technology based content. And last year Google followed up with an announcement that they had added external resource loading to SWF indexing capabilities.

Jifeng Situ and Sverre Sundsdal, Software Engineers at Google wrote,

Last month we expanded our SWF indexing capabilities thanks to our continued collaboration with Adobe and a new library that is more robust and compatible with features supported by Flash Player 10.1. Additionally, thanks to improvements in the way we handle JavaScript, we are also now significantly better at recognizing and indexing sites that use JavaScript to embed SWF content.

All in all, our SWF indexing technology now allows us to see content from SWF files on hundreds of millions of pages across the web.

Google is continuing to work on indexing deep linking (content within a Flash technology based application that is linked to from the same application) as well as further improving indexing of SWF files executed through JavaScript.

Now Googlebot also discover URLs in SWF files and follow those links, so if any SWF content contains links to pages inside your website, Google may be able to crawl and index those pages as well.

Well Google gave a very happy news to all. Now we can expect all our pages get indexed by Google.

As you all know Facebook is giving very strong competition to Google these days in many fields. Even we heard Google is silently developing a new social media site which has been named as GoogleMe! The fight between Google and Facebook is tremendous to watch out for.

Google recently added a new feature called real time update which features recent Twitter tweets about what you searching. This was one of the feature which shown Google and Twitter combination to tackle Facebook.

Here we got shock again! Today when we were searching for a topic, Google search result displayed its search like below,

What was that? Google added Facebook to its real time search updates! It was a shocking news for us at least. Not only Facebook. Google even added MySpace, FriendFeed and many social media site to get latest updates.

But Google didn’t add full-fledged updates from Facebook, MySpace etc. When we went inside updates page we rarely got updates from these providers and updates was filled with Twitter tweets.

May be Google is updating many features to tackle its competitor Microsoft Bing which joined its hand with Facebook. Bing now shows many updates from Facebook in its search.
