[How To] Boost your Old posts with Twitter in WordPress

    “OLD is GOLD “ , very true statement but also  I see many times Bloggers saying “My posts have become old and hence not receiving any visits or traffic”. This post is my answer to their question. Today I am going to show you how to boost your old posts with Twitter in WordPress blogs.

    So here is an interesting wordpress plugin->  Tweet Old Post , which is used to tweet all your posts to your twitter account  randomly based on the time intervals specified by you. Below are few features of this amazing plugin :

  • Tweet Prefix : Now you can add few prefixes or tags which will be placed at the starting of the tweets in the format
    “{tweet prefix}:{Post Title}…{url}”

  • Post Data : If this option is set to yes then automatically the tweet format will be
    “{tweet prefix}:{Post Title}—{Content}…{url}”

  • URL from Custom Field : This option will allow to fetch the shortened url from the custom field specified by you or else it will use the url shortener in the deafault list as shown below :Listofurlshortener thumb1 [How To] Boost your Old posts with Twitter in Wordpress
    • #Hash tags : You can also insert default hash tags to be included in the Tweet.
    • Time interval : The Minimum Time interval for the Tweet and Random Tweet Interval can be set in this plugin.
    • Post Age :  Depending on the age of the post , this plugin will tweet the posts. This feature has left behind many twitter schedulers.
    • Category Based : The posts will be avoided of selected category as shown below

    How to Install and Configure

    After installing and activating this plugin , fill the required fields as shown below :

      This can be done manually and takes only 5 seconds.
      Too many plugins mean a lot of clutter. Every blogger can spare 5 seconds per day or max one minute per day to tweet his old posts. I do that often with amazing results. If your followers get a hint that you are using plugins or feeds to tweet they wont click on your posts :) …Why complicate simple things? :)

        Hi cheth :)
        You are wright you can do it manually , but it takes much time to choose which post to tweet today and also here this plugin chooses the post randomly and also category based :) :)

        Many bloggers use several twitter applications by which they loose their account when it is hacked , so this is a better alternative and to make it more look like your regular tweet do not use default #hashtags and prefix option. This plugin is very much useful when you are very much active in Twitter and also sleeping ;)

        Not a problem friend ;) , You can change the minimum and random time interval ranging from 6 hours to 24 hours depending on your activity on Twitter :) :)

      Its an useful plugin for blogs with hundreds of posts but overdoing tweets may annoy twitter followers. btw its a gr8 post :)

        You can stop this overdosing by posting daily and setting the post age option as per your frequency of posting :) :)

      Ok, just installed, and used this plug-in. It rocks…. At first I thought it was offering different services, but this one is definitely worth getting. You can set up, customize and exclude certain posts or categories. It rocks. Good Job!
